1. What
is the cost of shipping? |
Cost of shipping
varies based on the size of vessel and its overall knock down* shipping
size. The sizes of vessels mentioned on our site are representative of
the knock down shipping size, and are the closest possible approximation
available without actually purchasing the vessel and having the shipping
company measure it for shipping. The cost is then based on the knock down
shipping size. To estimate the cost please use the calculator which is
a link located on the top right hand side of each listing. The calculation
is worked out by multiplying the Length x Beam x Height x Shipping rate
per cubic meters. Shipping rate for Australia and New Zealand are different
so please be sure to select the appropriate calculator.
*knock down shipping
is only applicable for vessels shipped from Funabashi.
N.B GIA Limited is
not responsible for the measuring of vessels, we only offer the measurements
on our site as a service, we will not be responsible for any loss or damage
incurred as a result of incorrect sizes. All true sizes are determined
by the stevedores who measure the vessels. |

| 2.
Who pays the shipping cost? |
| The shipping
cost is paid by the purchaser and is payable to the shipping agent of your
choice, shipping agents will take care of all necessary paperwork required
to import your vessel to your country. FOB prices do not include the cost of shipping. |
|
| |
| 3.
What does FOB mean? |
FOB*
is a shipping term that means 'Freight on Board'. This basically means
that the payable amount to us is the price you see on the vessel including
the cost of us loading the vessel on to the ocean freighter. If the vessel
is not FOB then you are also required to pay applicable loading fees, outbound customs fees,
handling fees, transportation etc. Please see our shipping page for an estimate of these costs.
*FOB is only available
on vessels shipped from our port in Funabashi. FOB is not always available, so please ask. *** Please note that shipping fees are not covered in the FOB fees or FOB price of a vessel. Shipping is always payable separately to the shipping line used. *** |

What do I do once I have decided which boat I want to purchase? |
To ensure
that your decision is realised you must send us an order for the vessel.
You may do this directly from the expression of interest page by including
your order remark in the comments field of the expression, vessels will
not be considered sold until payment is made in full, shipping space will
also only be booked once payment is made in full, all payments are to
be made to our nominated bank and transfer fees are to be incurred by
the purchaser.
N.B. All deposits
are payable in Japanese Yen only. Details of the payment etc will be provided
to you once we have received your order. Only once the full payment has
been confirmed will we arrange shipping space. |
|
|
| 5.
What are the shipping terms? |
Vessels
are shipped only once full payment for the vessel has been confirmed by
us with our bank. To ensure that your vessel is not removed from the ocean
freight booking, please be prompt when transferring funds to us. All payments
to us either for deposits or full payments must be made in Japanese Yen
to our nominated bank account. Once payments are confirmed all necessary
paperwork will be issued for utilisation by your shipping agent.
Shipping space is
confirmed in order of the vessels purchase order. If there is a back log
your vessel may be put off until the next available ship, in this situation
we will advise you accordingly.
We are not responsible
for shipping lines making changes to their schedule that impact the delivery
time of your purchased vessel. We always make every effort to provide
your purchase to you in the most timely and efficient manner possible,
but will not be responsible for changes, nor will we compensate any loss
or damages arising from a change in the shipping schedule. |

|
| 6.
Are the shipping sizes accurate? |
The
shipping sizes shown on our sites listings are indicative only, they are
as close to accurate based on our experience as possible, however the
shipping companies local stevedores are responsible for measuring the
vessels when they are to be shipped and for this reason we can not guarantee
that the sizes listed will be the same as the size on the BL. We do however
try to be as accurate as we can.
*Please not that the
shipping sizes can be updated without notice in the event that the stevedores
measure a vessel to be a different size than we have listed it as. A variation
of up to 50 cm should be added to calculations to be safe, especially
height and length, the beam rarely varies. |
|
|
| 7. How long
will it take for my boat to arrive? |
Once
payment has been received and your boat is booked on the ocean freighter,
the time to ship from departure from our port is approximately 12 days
to Brisbane, Australia and 17 days to Auckland, New Zealand
|
|
| |
8. Is there any warranty on the boat? |
| As we are an FOB exporter,
exporting used boats as is, there is no warranty expressed or implied. Global
International Asia, Limited does however take great care only to purchase
quality vessels for the purpose of export sales. If you require a warranty
we suggest that you utilise a boat dealer to either import the vessel for
you or purchase locally from a boat dealer. Naturally the price of the vessel
will increase considerably if you utilise a dealer in either scenario. |
|
| |
| 9. Is the boat
covered by insurance? |
Vessels *are covered
by insurance only during the ocean freighting of the vessel. Once your vessel
arrives at its destination port you will need to take out an insurance policy
to cover the vessel in your location.
*Applies to vessels shipped ex-Funabashi only and is for total loss only up to a
value of $50K USD. For insurance on other lines or for higher vaule, please request this
from your shipping agent. |
|
| |
| 10. Are there
any extra or hidden charges? |
There are no hidden
charges, however there are applicable Customs changes etc that will be
incurred when purchasing and importing one of our vessels. Please review
the appropriate information for either Australia or New Zealand below.
*Customers who chose
to ship from Yokohama should be careful to find a shipping agent that
can quote all applicable fees, as we are not responsible for any fees
associated with shipping from Yokohama. |
|
| |
| 11. Once my
boat arrives what if I'm not happy with it? |
| All we can say here
is, please be sure to purchase the vessel you want. We have not had any
claim to date that a customer did not receive the vessel they purchased
and was unhappy with the vessels presentation or that it differed from the
information we provided pre-sale. Global International Asia, Limited present
all information on a vessel prior to selling it. In the event that you want
further information or pictures to help you make your decision we are always
willing to oblige your request to ensure that you purchase the vessel you
want by your own conviction. This ensures that what you receive is what
you ordered. In the event that you are not happy with the vessel once it
arrives, this can only indicate that you changed your mind during the vessels
shipping. Again, please be sure when making your purchase as there are NO
refunds under any circumstances. |
|
| |
| 12. Will I
need local insurance on the boat once it arrives? |
| Local insurance is
not included when you import a vessel. We strongly recommend that you prepare
insurance prior to your vessel arriving to ensure that no loss is experienced
in anyway. |
|
| |
| 13. Can I cancel my purchase? |
GIA, Limited does not accept cancellations for vessels which have been paid for.
A vessel which as been ordered and invoiced may be cancelled prior to
payment, however GIA reserves the right to charge a 15% restocking fee in this case. PLEASE be sure about your purchase before going
ahead. |
